What if I'm not sure it's the right fit?

  • I offer a free 30 minute consultation where you can ask questions, discuss your concerns, and find out how I may help. There is no obligation to commit.

Are psychotherapy services covered by insurance?

  • Although psychotherapy is not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Program (OHIP), it is covered by many insurance companies. All you require is a proper receipt to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. There are still certain circumstances where employers may not have psychotherapy coverage included in their plans, therefore it will be important that you check your extended health care coverage in advance.

Insurance Companies that typically offer coverage for these services include:

  • Manulife Financial

  • Great West Life

  • Sunlife

  • Blue Cross

Do you offer sliding scale options?

  • I do offer a low-cost option under limited circumstances upon request.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?

  • No, although improvements can take time, you are never obligated to commit to a certain number of sessions.

How often do I have to attend appointments?

  • My typical recommendation is to begin with sessions closer together, either bi-weekly or weekly. This is so we can gather information, create plans, and gain some momentum, and then reduce frequency of sessions as you are comfortable. However, this is not mandatory as there are many ways to structure treatment that still offer positive results.
